It looks like nothing I've seen on an Ibanez. Whoa! That's got 8 digits plus the letter suffix. In this case, '82.Īfter this time period, I look for two numbers that could indicate a year and then I check the catalog for that year, to verify. On the older models (sometime before the 90s), I've found that the first two numbers represent the year. But I'm not sure if there has a definitive discussion or listing of acoustic serial number translations. I think there have been comments about the subject.
